The mountains are located between Banjarnegara, Wonosobo and Central Java. Located at an altitude of 2565 mdpl known as Dieng. There was an eruption on the southwest side of Dieng mountain accompanied by carbon dioxide blast. At least 149 people died in the eruption that occurred on February 20, 1979. Sinila crater also emit carbon dioxide gas and Hydrogen Sulfide (H2S). About 17 thousand residents were evacuated from six villages around the Sinila crater.
